Over the last 23 years, the Deer Park Education Foundation has awarded over $1,740,183 to Deer Park ISD!
Have you ever known a teacher who had to take money out of their pocket to do something special for their students in their classroom? The Deer Park Education Foundation assists teachers by awarding Enrichment Grants which makes a difference in the education of our students. The Foundation is a 501©3 non-profit, tax exempt organization founded in 1991 to help Deer Park ISD meet needs above and beyond the district’s budget. This year, the Foundation awarded the highest amount it has ever given in one year – $267,816 – which impacted over 300 teachers and thousands of students. In the last 23 years, the Foundation has awarded over 1.7 million dollars to Deer Park ISD. To assure that the Foundation can continue to fulfill its mission of excellence in education, we rely on support from our industry partners, area businesses and organizations and individuals that share our commitment to a top quality education for our students.
This year’s Strides for Schools Fun Run attracted an unprecedented number of race participants and sponsors — breaking last year’s record for dollars raised for the Deer Park Education Foundation. Over 1700 runners and walkers signed up for this all-community fundraiser to raise money in support of the hard working teachers and students of Deer Park. This year $160,700 was raised from our sponsor and $29,350 was raised through race registrations. Shell generously matched the $29,350 which made the grand total for the event $219,400.00. The Foundation sends a very special “Thank You” to Shell Deer Park and all of our sponsors!
